Spring trip to Canyonlands

Jolie and I spent a week in the Needles section of Canyonlands National Park. This is one of the narrow sections of the Chesler Park trail called the "joint" - nothing to do with pot - just a geologic term for a crack in the rock

The trails had many of these holes in the rock that the trails went through. This is one on the way to the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers with Jolie's silhouette.

Claret cup cactus. We saw lots of these in our hikes.

A quick rainstorm on our way to Colorado/Green confluence

Primrose on a rainy morning. Was laying on the side of a road to get this shot

Lupine

The hike to Peek-a-boo spring was miles of this type of scenery - hiking along the head of several beautiful canyons

One of several ladders on the Peek-a-boo spring hike. At the bottom it was so narrow that you couldnt turn around to see the stone steps you had to walk down get out of this narrow crack.

Druid Arch - 450 feet tall. Name is based on resemblance to Stonehenge. We waited for the sunniest day of the trip and started hiking at 6 am to get here while the sun was still at a good angle to get a shot
