Glacier Cosley Lake

Me and Jolie did a backpack into Cosley Lake in Glacier.  Camped at Cosley Lake and did day hikes - had warm weather and no mosquitoes (still some biting flies).  This is the moonrise from the beach next to the campsite.

Did a day hike past lake mokowanis up to this beautiful lake - Margaret Lake. Had to do an unintended and ultimately unecessary bushwhack to get here, but it was worth every minute of it.

Between Lake Mokowanis and Margaret Lake were some beautiful waterfalls!

Salmon River

Floated 100 miles on the Salmon River in Idaho - there were several fires near the river and lots of smoke most days - made for some interesting photo opportunities.  We got pretty close to one of the fires the first day in this picture.
thought this sap was cool looking
Great view of a new fire one evening

Hyalite Lake

Me and Jolie (and Polgara) went up to Hyalite Canyon to hike to top of Hyalite Peak (first for both of us) - 3,400' and 15 miles round trip.  Top is over 10,000 feet - great views from the top.  This is Jolie and  Palisades falls which is also in the Canyon.  Its  a popular ice climbing spot in the winter.
Saw tons of large and amazingly colorful paintbrush!
More paintbrush
Proof that we made it to the top.

Glacier/Iceberg Lake

Me and Ma went to Glacier to hike up to Iceberg Lake - we saw these two Marmot love birds (really, they were just playing) at Logan Pass

Little Yellow Flowers on Iceberg Trail

The beargrass were in full bloom - one of the best years I have ever seen up there.
Saw this young black bear as we were driving into Many Glacier

Bob Marshall

Me and Jolie (and Polgara) did a 6 day backpack in the Bob Marshall wilderness - saw lots of flowers, the Chinese Wall on a nice day.  Didnt see any bears but saw some big scat and heard woofing in the woods near camp one night.  These are some geraniums near our first camp,

Sleeping Giant

Tried to hike up to chest of Sleeping Giant with a group of 10 - its
a 15 mile round-trip with 5,200' of elevation gain.  We fell 1.5 miles and
over a 1,000' feet short but saw lots of great bitteroot!

Spring in Glacier

Rode my bike to Logan Pass before it was open to cars - got up there late in
the day as they were finishing construction so I was only one up there -
here is the view from the parking lot  (16 miles and 3,100' up).

These are the steps to visitor center - still a bit of snow up there

proof that I made it to the top

Saw these lady slippers on trail to Trout Lake
